Tietoja
María Villa Largacha on itsenäinen kuraattori ja pedagogi, jonka akateeminen tausta on filosofiassa sekä Curating and Contemporary Art opinnoissa. Hän on työskennellyt Kolumbiassa julkisen taiteen ohjelmien parissa editorina, fasilitaattorina ja yleisöohjelmien koordinaattorina. Yli vuosikymmenen ajan hänen työnsä on keskittynyt keskustelua, yhteistyötä, kestävyyttä ja yhteiskunnallista muutosta edistävien aloitteiden suunnitteluun ja toteuttamiseen osallistavien menetelmien ja kokeellisten pedagogioiden avulla. Hän on opettanut luovaa kirjoittamista ja kuraattorikäytäntöjä maisteritasolla Helsingissä sekä toiminut New Performance Turku Biennalen yhteiskuraattorina ennen vuoden 2025 Audience Ambassador -ohjelman kehittämistä. Tällä hetkellä hän työskentelee väitöskirjatutkijana Tampereen yliopistossa tutkien aikuiskoulutuksen transformatiivisia lähestymistapoja. Hänen viimeisimpiin julkaisuihinsa kuuluvat: “Tee mahdottomasta saavutettavissa oleva. Yasen Vasilev’n mahdottomien tekojen rakentaminen” (2024), “Venus, kuvaruudun kynnyksellä”, yhdessä Janina Rajakankaan kanssa (2023) ja “Tieteidenvälisyys korkeakoulutuksessa: ilkeät ongelmat, unelmat ja painajaiset” (2022). Kaikki julkaisut ovat englanniksi.
